Today was my pup and I first time coming here. They got us in a timely manner and when we got there the tech and Dr were so nice and very time efficient!! The receptionists were amazing as well and we both were greeted with a smile. They sent him home with a cute note on his boot and a new toy (which he loves). 10/10 experience and we will definitely be coming back!

Sadly, we recently had to help our fur-baby Ru transition over the rainbow bridge, and I want to send out a heartfelt thank-you to VCA Lake Otis for all that they have done over the years to help care for this sweet boy and especially for their compassion and accomodating professionalism during this emotional time... I don't think I could have asked for a more peaceful, understanding, and thoughtful experience during this difficult time.

We have a dog with extreme anxiety and behavioral problems that was causing stress on our day to day life and household.
I could not be more pleased with the help and care our boy has received and continues to receive by Dr. Mandy Seymour and her team. Thanks to VCA Lake Otis our household has become way more functional. We still have a ways to go but I am forever greatful. I highly recommend Vca Lake Otis and their team

I had an emergency move overseas that I needed an International Health Certificate for my cat. They got us in quickly, were even able to get us in a day early before our schedule appointment, and had the Health Certificate back same day. They do use the USDA VEHCS system. Return times on the certificates vary but I appreciated they understood I was in an emergency. Because of their assistance I was able to move my flights up 6 days and made it to Ecuador in time to be with my MIL before she passed. I truly appreciate their helpfulness and compassion.

I was a bit anxious bringing my cat into the vet for the first time. I wasn’t sure how she would react. However, all the staff I encountered at this location were phenomenal! The vet tech and Dr. Grimes were both very patient and loving to my kitty. The exam was a breeze! Thank you VCA!❤️

So so happy with my experience here! 10/10 would recommend! I took my very anxious shepherd in today for a wellness check/vaccines and I was beyond impressed by their professionalism, knowledge and obvious love for animals. They were so gentle, took their time and made us both feel so safe and secure. I have never had such a friendly vet experience, they truly are a fear free clinic. After such an amazing first visit we will definitely be using the VCA for our further veterinary needs.

I got a Samoyed from a reputable breeder (out of state) that ended up having serious anxiety issues. I worked on her anxiety for about a year-- doing agility classes, nose work, and tons of other classes to improve her confidence. She was able to get her Canine Good Companion Certification, but she was still an out-of-control dog.

People would ask me if my dog was a rescue because she was so bad-- just barking and going into blind panics for no apparent reason. We tried everything the dog trainers said to try. I was literally grasping at straws to help my dog.

And my regular vet suggested we visit Dr. Seymour, and it was the best piece of advice I got. Dr. Seymour has just about cured my dog. She went from barking so much and so loudly in the truck that I felt it was dangerous to drive to being pretty relaxed and rarely barking. Dr. Seymour gave me a mountain of handouts to read, recommended a book to read on dog body language, and gave me a ton of YouTube videos to watch. It's been several months and I'm not even through a tenth of Dr. Seymour's suggestions, but my dog is doing great.

Last year, we went camping, and my dog barked non-stop. This year, we did the same camping trip, and no one could believe how different my dog is. She didn't bark, wasn't going nuts all the time-- she chilled out and was happy to get pets.

Dr. Seymour also helped us with fireworks. At New Year's my dog was so distressed by the fireworks that she lost control of her bowels and cowered all night in the bathroom. Nothing I could would calm her or comfort her. Dr. Seymour gave my dog some medications that were specifically to use with fireworks, and my dog really wasn't too concerned about the Fourth of July fireworks.

Dr. Seymour changed my life by helping my dog become a calm, happy dog. She spent hours with me and my dog, and we email back and forth all the time with updates on my dog's progress. She always has good ideas for how to help in different situations, and I'm so thankful that we have Dr. Seymour in Alaska.
