Terrible - if I was Weidner Apartment Homes Id sell it - trashy, loud, cops are always there. Dog poop everywhere. Move in, mark damages, and the things that are missing. They say they will bring them never do in 6 months…then they charge you for them at move out. Im glad I didnt let it ruin my thoughts on Weidner because Weidner apartments in TX -5star! So glad I moved!

There are several reasons College View Apartments deserves a one star rating. The property manager will automatically refuse the first maintenance request, especially when the regular property manager was on leave. The lease says cable is included, but GCI no longer offers cable and when I asked if there would be a rent adjustment the property manager said they calculated what the cable was worth, but decided not to adjust rent to compensate. There is no noise insulation, and my apartment is above the boiler room so it gets very hot. The lack of maintenance and boiler room combine with one of the big issues, a ridiculous amount of small biting insects from the boiler room. The front door does not shut properly, when I moved in the wood was warped. I made several requests to fix it and when they 'fixed' it they made the crack between the door and the frame worse.

Have to reiterate what's down below. I found the rent at this complex to be much higher than was deserved by the humble apartments. It was okay at first, being within walking distance of the University, but after only six months they were raising the rent by more than $100 a month. The extremely low ceiling was made of insulation painted over with flat white wall paint. This insulation provided zero protection from the sounds of my neighbors, or from the extremely high thermostat of the downstairs tenant. They were pretty good about returning the security deposit, but I wasn't particularly sorry to close the door on this apartment.

I really do like the on site management team. However, they are not able to bend much due to upper management. The walls and ceilings are paper thin, you will literally hear a sneeze from the neighboring unit. Please look elsewhere. The living situation is horrible and upper management will take every dollar they can from you. It’s worth spending extra on another place if you can. You will loose sleep and sanity here.

They don’t allow tenants to clean the carpet, then charge you for the carpet cleaning bill when you move out. Also, they sent us to collections after making no effort whatsoever to contact us. They used the excuse of “we had your old phone numbers”, but we gave them our new phone numbers and they never contacted us through them. They even admitted to me that could have emailed or called me, but never did. Also, the apartment was unclean and a lot of things were broken when we moved in (including doors) so I don’t know what the money they say we owe them is going to.
