We’ve been attending ASYC since my 6yo son was 3. Then my second son started at 2.5, and now we’re just waiting for my daughter to start in the next 6months!
We’ve loved our experience with Coach Jeremy, Coach Jo and others. We tried a different local soccer group with our first son however it was ran by teenagers.. they tried their best but kids at 2.5yo need structure, encouragement and repetition.
We’ve found just that at ASYC and could not recommend it enough to other parents! In a very short period of time when we started the sessions, my boys started to just maneuver the soccer ball with only their feet and no hands! There never was any constant ‘no hands on the ball’ talk, kids just naturally after repeated games and runs with the ball from net to net only use their feet. My kids loved the structure and knowing the games, especially staring at such a young age where being amongst other kids is a bit much when at home mostly. They’ve all learned some soccer skills, social skills and being able to listen to instructions by a coach.
I can’t wait for my daughter to be able to keep up with her older brothers and learn the same games and skills as they have through the awesome coaches, especially Coach Jeremy!
Thanks ASYC!!

My daughter has been doing the Anchorage Youth Soccer Club Preschool Academy since she was 2.5 and we are looking forward to starting her younger brother this winter. Coach Jeremy is awesome- he knows all the kids by name and is always so positive and up-beat. The kids love him and they listen to him well. The preschool program teaches the basic fundamentals of soccer -footwork & ball handling- in a fun, structured way.

With an emphasizes on routine, which my toddler thrives on (she likes knowing what’s coming next), this program gives my kid structure, practice at listening to a coach/ teacher, exercise and social skills as well. As a parent and former soccer player, I highly recommend!

We love Coach Jeremy and the AYSC. Started off my first daughter at 3.5yrs old and after 6 months of consistently attending, she has gained so much confidence in her skills. It really got her little sister excited to join when watching and at times participating with big sister’s class that she wanted to start as soon as she turned 2yrs old. My girls have so much fun doing it. We even drive in from Palmer just to attend classes with Coach Jeremy because he does a great job in making it fun. It’s a great way for kids to get out of the house, learn new skills, and make friends.

As a long time preschool academy fan and someone who has had 1 kid go through the program and still has one in it, I have found this program to be a great fun way to teach your kids the fundamentals of soccer. The coaches are kind and take the time to get to know each kid individually. When my daughter is asked who her favorite soccer player is she says her coach. That makes me feel very good about the choice I have made sending both my kids to this amazing program. I highly recommend this program for the best age appropriate Soccer. A huge shout out to all the coaches at the preschool Academy for introducing the love of Soccer to my kids.

My children have been consistently apart of this program for 3 years. We truly enjoy the coaches, they structure practice around age appropriate drills and activities. The children have fun, while learning the fundamental skills which they continue to build on with each session.

We have had our 2 kids in the AYSC for years now, starting in the preschool academy. Coach Jeremy has not only been instrumental in teaching a solid foundation of soccer, but instilling a true love of the game and sense of fun. My son has moved up into the precomp ages and is still getting all of the awesome coaching and having a great time that we have come to appreciate from AYSC. This club focuses on building skills and having good sportsmanship, unlike some other larger clubs in town. AYSC is awesome and we are very thankful that they exist in our small Alaska community.

Our 2.5-3.5 soccer “class” was boring and unprofessional. Not once did class start on time, and multiple times it ended early. Not getting a full 45min. The coaches did the same exact thing every single time. For the first 20 minutes they ask the 2.5-3.5 year olds to run 20 soccer balls from 1 end to another, while the coaches chit chat and kick balls from one another. Participation is very low because the kids are so bored. On one of our lasts “classes” two coaches didn’t make it. So the 3rd coach brought her ~boyfriend~ Do we know if this guy has been vetted to work with children? Who knows. It was wildly unprofessional on so many levels. It was a struggle for all parents to “make” their kid participate because we were all bored. This was a waste of money and time. It should not be hard to set up stations, play running games, or at the very least work gross motor skills. ADVICE: choose another soccer club for your little one.

I'm so happy I found this club for my sons. Atmosphere throughout the club is great. It feels like a big family. The club's priority of player development is very clear.
